Hello, my name is Stuart. I became a counsellor because I have always been interested in people and their stories. I am curious about why we react and respond in different ways to life, the good parts, the difficult parts, and the constant changes we all experience.
I am also interested in why some people appear to thrive while others feel stuck, and why each person’s way of coping can feel so different.
I work with people who are trying to make sense of it all and are at various stages of that spectrum when things feel completely impossible or hopeless up to when things seem to be a bit clearer and the curiosity that lies in those spaces, where you may not even know what is going on, but you just feel something is not right.
I work in a relaxed, casual, curious way, I like to think my approach to counselling is to make it feel as “normal” as possible, no matter how heavy the subject matter may be.
I am a person-centred counsellor based in Hertfordshire providing online counselling session via Zoom. I am a registered member of the BACP and an accredited member of the NCPS, and my professional background consists of over a decade working within substance misuse, crisis mental health support, grief and bereavement, homelessness, neurodiversity fields and social care.
